NTU Ranked Top 10 globally In 10 Subjects By Shanghai Ranking

NTU Singapore students studying at The HiveNTU Singapore continues to maintain its leading position in the global academic landscape with 10 subjects among the world’s Top 10 for the second year running. This is according to the latest Global Ranking of Academic Subjects by the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy.

A total of 47 NTU subjects were ranked in the global ranking this year, of which 22 were listed among the Top 50 worldwide. These 22 subjects included 17 Engineering subjects, 4 Social Sciences subjects and 1 Natural Sciences subject.

NTU’s Nanoscience & Nanotechnology led the list, maintaining its No. 1 position for the fifth consecutive year. Another eight NTU Engineering subjects were ranked among the world’s Top 10: Energy Science (2nd), Automation & Control (5th), Telecommunication Engineering (6th), Instruments Science & Technology (6th), Electrical & Electronic Engineering (8th), Computer Science (8th), Transportation Science (8th) and Materials Science (9th). Other notable successes were Mining & Mineral Engineering that debuted at 36th place, and Metallurgical Engineering that broke into the world’s Top 50 at 46th position.

In Social Sciences, NTU’s Communication climbed four places from 9th position to 5th this year, while Finance rose five places to 37th. Other Social Sciences subjects in the Top 50 were Library & Information Science (43rd) and Management (48th).

In Natural Sciences, NTU’s Chemistry ranked 11th.
