Singapore and New Zealand Sign Formal Arrangement to Further Cybersecurity Cooperation

The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and The National Cyber Policy Office (NCPO) of New Zealand have signed a Formal Arrangement to strengthen cybersecurity cooperation. 

Mr David Koh, Chief Executive, Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, and Ms Joanne Tyndall, New Zealand High Commissioner to Singapore signed the Formal Arrangement to strengthen cybersecurity cooperation between Singapore and New Zealand. It was witnessed by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

Through the Arrangement, Singapore and New Zealand will undertake cybersecurity cooperation in key areas including regular information exchange on cybersecurity incidents and threats and sharing of best practices on the protection of Critical Information Infrastructure and cyber ecosystem development. Both countries will also conduct cybersecurity exercises and collaborate on capacity building activities in the region. The Arrangement takes effect immediately.

The Arrangement was signed by Mr David Koh, Chief Executive, Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, and Ms Joanne Tyndall, New Zealand High Commissioner to Singapore.  Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern witnessed the signing ceremony, which took place at the Istana on May 17, 2019.

Mr David Koh said “Both Singapore and New Zealand recognise that there is a need to enhance efforts to deal with increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks. By working together, we will be able to capitalise on each of our strengths and share information and expertise to secure our cyberspace. We are excited to strengthen our collaboration in this respect.
