First Look: CapitaSpring, Singapore’s Newest Skyscraper

Three years on, the former Golden Shoe Car Park is almost ready to welcome us back in its full glory.

Your friendly hosts from CapitaLand INSIDE throw on their hard hats, safety boots (and 3-ply masks) to bring you right into the heart of CapitaSpring. The 51-storey integrated development will offer all-new experiences from a 280-metre high rooftop farm to a glorious 4-storey spiral stairway.

This writer struggled to pick just 5 experiences you can look out for when the skyscraper is completed in 2H 2021.

1. Coffee at the park

Along with the redevelopment, part of Market Street will be converted into a public park, blending seamlessly into the City Room at CapitaSpring. If you’re looking for a quiet spot to relax in between meetings – pick up a coffee on Level 1 and have a seat on one of the benches. Community events like fitness sessions and lunchtime performances will also be held at the City Room.

2. Brunch (and Instagram) at the 4-storey spiral stairway

At a 100 metres above ground, the 4-storey botanical promenade will house flex work spaces (yes, you can bring your laptop along and you’re ready to take your next work call from the Green Oasis); social spaces (e.g. Yoga Alcove, amphitheatre) and even a bistro. We foresee meeting our friends here for brunch on weekends and exploring the many green areas in this mid-air garden.

When walking around the site, the INSIDE team was especially amazed by the beautifully-designed glass lift in the Green Oasis. It’ll make a perfect backdrop for Instagram photos.

3. Staycay at Citadines Raffles Place Singapore

Mark your calendars – the 299-unit Citadines Raffles Place Singapore is scheduled to open its doors in 4Q 2021. The loft apartments look perfectly spacious – giving you just enough privacy to relax on the upper deck while still remaining in the same communal space as your friends chatting and Netflix-ing downstairs. You can also choose studios, one- or two-bedroom units, and the kitchenettes come in handy when you too lazy to even venture out for breakfast.

Ascott Star Rewards members can manage their reservations, self check-in and check-out, redeem e-vouchers, and view their membership status via the Discover ASR app.  Work up a sweat at the swimming pool, jacuzzi, running track, gymnasium or yoga deck; or hang out with your friends at the barbeque pits, residents’ kitchen and lounge.

4. Work, but make it cool. Make it tech

CapitaSpring is designed to allow you absolute freedom, personalisation and flexibility. You can literally work anywhere within the integrated development with the latest WiFi 6 technology and ample power points. You can enjoy frictionless access with facial recognition tech at the turnstiles and destination-controlled lift systems. Pre-register guests or book amenities such as meeting rooms and event spaces via the CapitaStar@Work app.

In keeping with CapitaSpring’s tailored experiences, executives can also choose from the full range of flex workspaces. Around 10% of the development’s office space is dedicated for flex workspaces such as hot desks, private offices and large enterprise suites.

The Work Project will manage three floors of coworking space at CapitaSpring. With this full integration of core and flex workspaces in an office development – tenants can easily scale up or adjust their flex workspace requirements in CapitaSpring.

5. Fall in love under a blanket of stars and citylights

With the world’s highest farm-to-plate restaurant and social bar on Level 51 of CapitaSpring, one thing you can be sure about – the view is going to be breathtaking.

Located right next to the rooftop urban farm; the sky restaurant will be operated by F&B and lifestyle group, 1-Group. They will also manage the cafe on Level 1 and pan-European bistro at the Green Oasis.

Stay tuned to CapitaLand INSIDE for more details on the dining concepts at CapitaSpring in the coming months! ?
